Dr Dagmar Whitaker obtained S.E.G. in 1982 (summa cum laude), MD at the University of Frankfurt (cum laude) in 1983 and worked in internal Medicine from 1984 until 1989. She was a dermatology registrar at the University of Stellenbosch from 1990 until qualifying with her MMed Derm in 1994.

Currently she is working in her own private practice in Kenilworth, Cape Town since 1994.

She has won numerous awards, including best congress presentation for a registrar, as well as been involved with publications in the Journal of Skin-Diseases, Melanoma Guidelines for South Africa, as well as Psoriasis Guidelines for South Africa.

She has a passion for melanoma, currently being the president of the Melanoma Society South Africa, as well as vice-president of the Melanoma World Society.
